Members - $105 per student ($15/workshop)

Non-Members - $140 per student ($20/workshop)

Price reflects the workshop only and does not include general admission into the Science Center.

 

All workshops are available for students aged 8-13

Spy Science Workshops

We are excited to train our students on trending technologies to develop the next level of Spy Science Investigators!

 

Workshops will take place on the second Thursday of each month from October through April.

October 10, 2019 - Cybersecurity-Encryption
Students will learn how to encrypt and decrypt messages, create their own secret code and learn how encryption helps to keep information secure.

November 14, 2019 - Cybersecurity-Protecting Data
Students will use Sphero robots to learn about different cyber protection software options and learn how to choose the best one to protect their information.

December 12, 2019 - Agents of STEM
Students will discover the properties of light and sound waves and investigate how they can hide information and objects. What they learn comes together as they create their own laser-cut box (culminating project)!

January 9, 2020 - Illusions
Students will dive deep into illusions and create their own Peppergram! These cool devices can trick our eyes into seeing information using holograms. Work will continue on the culminating project.

February 13, 2020 - Internet of Thing (IOT)
Students will learn how devices can communicate with each other and how to make sure information gets to the right device. Work will continue on the culminating project.

March 12, 2020 - Electricity Investigators
Students will learn how to escape with their secret information and set a trap for their enemies using circuitry. Work will continue on the culminating project.

April 9, 2020 - Culminating Project
Students will finish their boxes and create scavenger hunts for their classmates using information hidden in their boxes!
