JAMIE FINLEY SIMONEAU NAMED CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER AT GREAT LAKES SCIENCE CENTER

CLEVELAND (May 4, 2012) – Great Lakes Science Center, home of the NASA Glenn Visitor Center, announces the promotion of Jamie Finley Simoneau to chief operating officer (COO). Simoneau will be heavily involved in strategic planning for the organization and responsible for all operations, marketing, guest services, contract partners, special events and the OMNIMAX® Theater.

Simoneau joined Great Lakes Science Center in 2006 and most recently, served as vice president of marketing and guest services, with responsibility for the majority of earned-revenue areas.

“In the past few years, Jamie has played a significant role in managing a bulk of our earned-revenue areas and has delivered excellent results,” said Linda Abraham-Silver, president and CEO of the Science Center. “With this promotion, Jamie will continue to provide top-notch executive-level leadership as we continue to further our mission to engage visitors through fun, interactive experiences to stimulate curiosity about and encourage understanding of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.”

Prior to entering the non-profit arena, Simoneau was the Ohio regional marketing director of Westfield Corporation. In addition, she worked as an account supervisor at Sweeney Public Relations and Brown, Flynn Communications.

A life-long Clevelander, Simoneau was a member of Leadership Cleveland class of 2011. Her awards include the Association of Midwest Museum’s Promising Leadership Award and the YWCA Woman of Professional Excellence Award. She graduated from Ohio University.
