BioMedTech 2011 Distance Learning Programs

BioMedTech’s Distance Learning program, presented in collaboration with WVIZ ideasteam, features presentations from leading professionals in the area of biomedical technology and engineering, presented via Interactive Video Distance Learning to students, teachers, schools and science centers nationwide. Recommended for learners in grades 7-12, the program is designed to stimulate interest in biomedical technology and engineering careers and to foster an appreciation and understanding of regionally developed medical advances.

DNA Days Celebration

Presented by Shulin Zhang, MD, PhD, Scientific Director, Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory at University Hospitals Case Medical Center and Assem Ziady, PhD, Assistant Professor, Division of Pediatric Pulmonology at Case Western Reserve University, Clinical and Translational Science Collaborative (CTSC) Researcher


National DNA Day commemorates the discovery of the double helix and the completion of the Human Genome Project. In recognition of National DNA Day, Dr. Zhang, Scientific Director, Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory at University Hospitals Case Medical Center, will describe his role in DNA testing and investigation, and Dr. Ziady, a cutting-edge Clinical and Translational Science Collaborative (CTSC) scientist will share how his DNA research leads aims to stimulate advancements in medical treatments and cures for cystic fibrosis.
