Great Lakes Science Center plans Pokémon-A-Thon event for Saturday, Sept. 17 CLEVELAND 9/12/2016

Over the last few weeks, the harbor area around Great Lakes Science Center has developed into a popular destination for Pokémon Go players, but why just stay outside?

On Saturday, September 17, Pokémon trainers of all ages are invited to join the Science Center for a family-friendly day of catching Pokémon while learning the science behind virtual reality, trajectory, medical science and more! The Science Center will be dropping lures and conducting experiments all day long, with many of the special activities included with paid general admission.

Great Lakes Science Center to digitize, renovate movie theater, reopen in October with world’s first giant dome cinema laser system 8/30/2016

The iconic giant dome movie theater at Great Lakes Science Center is about to get a makeover including a serious projection upgrade!

The Science Center’s Cleveland Clinic Foundation OMNIMAX Theater will shut down after the last movie of the day on Monday, September 5 and remain closed until mid-October when it will reopen as the Cleveland Clinic Foundation Dome Theater -- featuring the world’s first giant dome cinema laser system. All new comfortable seats and new carpeting will complete the renovations. The new features will enhance the viewing experience for guests of all ages and solidify the theater’s position as one of the most unique venues for moviegoers.
